Office of the Governor for the State of Oregon has issued Executive Order No. 21-25 DETERMINATION OF A STATE OF DROUGHT EMERGENCY IN LINCOLN COUNTY.
The K-GB-LB Water District is asking for cooperation of its customers both residential and commercial to restrict their use of water. Due to drought conditions prevailing throughout the State, ordinary demands and requirements of water consumers cannot be satisfied without depleting the water supply of the District to the extent that there would be insufficient water for human consumption, sanitation, and fire protection.
The District has initiated Stage 2 of the District’s 2016 Water & Conservation Plan as defined in Section 4. This is a proactive measure designed to reduce demand on the District’s water system and the potential for a critical water shortage.
Restrict outdoor watering to – even-numbered addresses may water on even-numbered days of the month, and odd-numbered addresses on odd-numbered days.
Prohibit the use of water to wash any motorbike, motor vehicle, boat, trailer, airplane, or other vehicle, except at a commercial washing facility that practices wash-water recycling.
Prohibit the use of water to wash down sidewalks, walkways, driveways, parking lots, tennis courts, and other hard-surfaced areas.
Prohibit the use of water to wash buildings or structures.
Prohibit the use of water to fill, refill, or add to any indoor or outdoor swimming pools or hot tubs,
except if one of the following conditions is met: the pool is used for neighborhood fire control supply, the pool has a recycling water system, the pool has an evaporative cover, or the pool’s use is required by a medical doctor’s prescription.
Prohibit the use of water in a fountain or pond for aesthetic or scenic purpose, except where necessary to support fish life.
Discourage serving water to customers in restaurants unless water is requested by the customer. This action does not provide significant water savings, but is useful for generating awareness of the need to curtail use.
Prohibit the use of water from hydrants for construction purposes (except on a case-by-case basis), fire drills, or any other purpose other than firefighting.
Prohibit the use of water for golf course irrigation other than for those areas designated as tees and greens.
Prohibit the use of water for dust control unless absolutely necessary.
